SSI Open Water Referral Course - 2DiVE4 Scuba School

Learning to scuba dive to go on holiday? The SSI Open Water Referral Course is a fantastic way to combine convenience with hands-on experience, allowing you to complete the theoretical portion of the SSI Open Water Course through eLearning at home and then spend focused, practical time in class and in the pool with 2DiVE4 to build your skills and confidence in a safe environment.

This is followed by a day at the pool, completing the 5 confined ater dives. You can then either complete the open water dives with 2DiVE4, or take a holiday to complete at an approved dive centre that we can locate for you.

2DiVE4’s SSI Open Water Referral Course option is for those who are going on holiday and would like to complete the theory and swimming pool sessions before they go and finish the 4 Open Water dives in the warmer waters of your desired holiday destination.

This SSI Open Water Referral Course is conducted by 2DiVE4’s highly qualified diving instructors and is divided into 2 areas:

Academic Training (eLearning at home, followed by a quick review in class)
Confined Water Training (swimming pool sessions)

2DiVE4 will then help you locate a dive centre at the destination of your choice.

Pre-requisites

No diving experience necessary
Minimum age: 10
Able to swim 200 meters non-stop any style
Able to tread water for 10 minutes
Complete a medical statement attached to our booking form

The SSI Open Water Referral Course is conducted over 2 days and is split into 2 different areas:

Theory – eLearning at home, followed by quick review at 2DiVE4
Confined water dives (swimming pool) – 5 dives

The 2 day course structure at our Bishop’s Stortford & Bedford venues is as follows:

Day 1 – 10am-2pm, 2DiVE4, Bishop’s Stortford – Course orientation (after you’ve completed eLearning at home)
Day 2 – 9am-5pm – Pool dives 1 – 5. All courses at our Bedford pool, except July & August (Bishop’s Stortford)

For hygiene reasons all students will need their own mask & snorkel. These are available for purchase at 2DiVE4 before your course.

Please note that this course is performance based. If your 2DiVE4 professional instructor feels you require additional training, then 2DiVE4 can provide this at an agreed cost.
